About Us
"For 9 years we have had the pleasure of sharing a part of our Island that most visitors miss. It is our hope that people leave a Kauai ATV adventure with an appreciation of this tropical paradise and a renewed desire to preserve all open spaces for generations."
We hear it almost daily "you guys are so lucky to live, work, and play in paradise". We agree 100%. And when your work is play its even better! For over eight years we have worked hard to share with our guests the beauty of the island in a fun and unique way. We have since become Hawaii's premiere off road adventure company specializing in guided tours for just about everybody. Here's a little history on how we got here.
In 1999 we started Kauai ATV with 10 150CC ATV's, a shipping container to house the ATVs, a small check in office in Old Koloa Town (A historic Buddhist temple), and six employees.
In 2001 we introduced the Mud Hog, six passenger vehicle driven by our guides to accommodate families with kids ages 5 and up.
In 2002 we introduced the Mud Bug, a custom made 2 seater "dune buggy" that our guests could drive.
In September of 2003 we endured a blessing in disguise when a frustrated job applicant torched our check in office after being denied employment. Though we were incredibly saddened at the loss of a historic site in Koloa, we were given the opportunity to expand into our current location behind the Chevron Station to another historic building "the Old Paint Shop".
In 2004 we phased out the Mud Hog and introduced the Ohana Bug, a 4 seater "dune buggy" built just for families.
In late 2007 we secured our first fleet of 20 bio-diesel Mud Bugs and partnered with Kauai Farm Fuel to deliver premium bio-fuel sourced and processed on Kauai.
