Enviromental Responsibility

ATV’s and eco-tourism? Mutually exclusive you say? Well, not so fast.

Working outdoors everyday we are sensitized to how precious and finite our environment is. Every day we share with our guests the history, culture, and ecology of the island. All terrain vehicles allow guests of all ages and physical abilities to explore areas of the island they would otherwise miss. And yet when we reflect on our environmental impact as a business both locally and globally we are our own biggest critic. So what makes us sleep at night? Knowing that we have committed our resources and company vision to reduce our impact on the planet and our community.

Here's what we are doing now:

  • Kauai ATV uses pre-existing cane haul roads
  • Guests are not allowed to ride off designated trails – no trail blazing
  • Established recycling program for tour and store recyclable goods
  • Scheduled Aina clean up days for all employees
  • Increased inventory of organic and recycled products for retail
  • Custom built Bio-diesel Mud Bugs
  • Funding for Hawaiian environmental educational programs through our Bio Bug Program

Here's what were working on:

  • Acquisition of Bio Diesel ATV's
  • Solar paneling and wind energy alternatives
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D) certification for
    our new store location.
  • Collaboration with local non-profits in native plant re-vegetation
  • Recycled shopping bags for retail

Again we see this as just the beginning of our transformation as a company. If you are interested in what we are doing, any of the programs or projects we support, or if you have suggestions or solutions for us please contact us.
